Value of Videos for Your Business in 2022

What is the value of videos for your business?

Who doesn’t love watching a video? It is obvious to see that these days everyone is leaning toward digestion of video clips, whether it’s streaming a show, a YouTube video, or a Tik Tok.

Today, more than ever, videos have become the new hit. Let me throw some data at you:

  • Since the beginning of COVID, studies have shown that 80% of consumers have consumed more content than they did before.[1]
  • The average person will spend 100 minutes each day watching online videos in 2021, up from 84 minutes last year.[2]
  • Advertising expenditure on online video has risen by 18% this year.[3]

And we’re just warming up!

While some businesses still treat video content as a substitute to live events and mostly use it for company-wide updates, it’s time to open your horizons to new possibilities.

Videos are fast and effective at delivering your message. Let me tell you a few things you can do with them!

Captivate Your Audience

With carefully crafted video content you will engage your audience and will make them want more, or at least keep watching to see more. The more carefully you convey your message and the more serious you take the task of determining your goals, the easier it will be for your viewers to enjoy the video and feel encouraged to share it. So how do we do that?

1. Find Your W

Why are you making this video?

As a producer in a Video Production Company, this is the first question I ask our clients during the discovery call. “Why are we making this?”, “Who will watch it?”, “Why will they watch it?”.

Pretty simple questions, but they will steer you in the right direction and will save you money in production, revisions, and your ad budget.

2.  Know Your Audience

We all wish to have high engagement, increased leads, and a crazy conversion. But let’s be realistic, your business (especially if it’s a small business), needs to have a target audience. Define your perfect customer, who are you trying to reach? What are they like, how old are they, where do they live, what are their interests? Try to create videos for that specific “person” you have in mind. This will help you build trust and a pool of consumers who are genuinely interested in what you have to offer.

3. Be You

If your business is a Floral Shop, don’t try to sound like you work at a dealership. Discover your brand’s voice and try to stick to it. This will tell your audience that you’re just like them, a real person and they will feel safer with you. Stay authentic. Your audience will draw near to what is true and real.

Think Future

Where do most of us get the majority of information from? Most definitely it’s our phones.

One of the services we offer to our clients is re-purposing their videos for Social Media. Whopping 90% of consumers watch videos on their phones. So are you current? Do you have short clips for your business that a customer can watch and retain what they saw? Can they share it, like it, save it?

P.S. Re-purposing your videos is a hack I like to use when we have clients who have smaller budgets or think their business has no content to be shared in a video format.

The bottom line is, videos are the best way to get close to your audience. We all want to feel connected, a sense of community and familiarity. We love seeing people and hearing their voices as if we’re right there and then with them, that’s the true value of videos for you and your business.

Put the profitability and conversions aside and think about your brand. Allow your audiences to connect with you. Educate them and share valuable information. Then you will have a loyal following that will stick with you for a while. Creating a voice and name for your brand is essential and is only growing more and more fundamental as the use of media increases.

So start investing in your business’s future – dive into video marketing and let a professional team help you reach new audiences!
